Kristen Martin - Head of School
Kristen joined the Montessori School of Central Vermont in the Fall of 2005. Kristen began working with the Montessori School of Central Vermont, Inc. as a Primary Guide and Site Director at MMS. In 2010 the Montessori School of Central Vermont launched its Elementary program and Kristen took the position as Elementary Guide, as well as continuing to serve as Site Director at MMS. In 2012 Kristen accepted the position for Head of School. She received her elementary training at Seacoast Center in NH and her primary training through the New England Montessori Teacher Education Center in MA and the North American Montessori Center in WA.
Lana Bodach-Turner - Financial Administrator
Lana has been with the Montessori School of Central Vermont since 2003, first serving as a Children's House classroom assistant. She quickly took on administrative support resposibilities as well, and in 2007 moved to a full time administrative position working alongside the Head of School. She currently serves as the Financial Administrator.
Lana received her Bachelors of Arts degree from Ithaca College, with the goal of working in the early education field. She completed the Assistance to Infancy program at the Montessori Institute Northwest in Oregon and is currently working towards a Master's Degree in Early Education with a concentration in Montessori (0-3) from Loyola University in Maryland.
Lana lives in East Montpelier with her husband and two children. Both her daughter and son attend the Montessori School of Central Vermont. When not at school Lana enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and being outdoors.
Justyna Krysztoforska - Primary Guide
After completing the academic requirements at New England Montessori Teacher Education Center in August 2008, Justyna started teaching in Poznan, Poland and then at Warsaw Montessori School. Justyna, her husband and two children wanted to return to New England and when the opportunity came from the Montessori School of Central Vermont in the Fall of 2010 they took it.
Justyna's undergraduate degree is in Public Administration, from Nicolas Copernicus University in Torun. She received her MEd in Administration and Supervision from the Organization and Management Department at Antioch University New England. Prior to working at Warsaw Montessori and MMS, she had a career in administration, banking and customer service. Justyna currently serves as a Primary Guide at the Montpelier Montessori School location.
Darra Dane Cothran - Primary Guide
Darra Dane Cothran is originally from Columbia, South Carolina. She earned her Bachleor of Science at Winthrop University with a focus on Early Childhood Intervention. After college, Darra Dane began working in childcare with children ages 2-5. In 2009 she recieved her AMS Montessori Certificate from Lander University. In 2012 Darra Dane moved back to Vermont with her hasband and daughter after accepting a teaching position with MSCVT.
Lindsay Wurzel - Elementary Guide
Lindsay Moriah Wurtzel has been teaching in Montessori for since 2005. Lindsay holds her Bachelors in Anthropology with a minor in English and History. Lindsay also completed her Masters in Jewish Education and special education through Hebrew College in Boston. Lindsay has taught upper elementary grades at Sagebrush Elementary Program and Discovery Elementary in Texas. Lindsay also has experience teaching in Florida at a public Montessori school. Lindsay holds her certification from the Houston Montessori center for AMS 1st through 6th grade. Lindsay holds state certifications from Texas and Florida and is currently working on receiving her State certification from Vermont. Lindsay decided to move back to New England where she feels the most at home. She joined the Montessori School of Central Vermont Elementary Program in 2012.
