Picture driving along busy Route 2, passing where MSCVT used to be and turning off onto Muddy Brook Road, as you meander along past forest and farmland, quiet neighborhoods and an idyllic horse farm. As you reach Pine Hill Road, you come across a beautiful school, with expansive playing fields, natural play-scapes and a sheltered awning to drop off children at a large school building.  Wow! This is the new, permanent home of the Montessori School of Central Vermont!

This vision has been over 6 years in the making, while the Board and Administration of MSCVT searched for a permanent location for the School that could alleviate the space and enrollment restrictions it had suffered.  In 2013 the School began investigating the former Knights of Columbus building on Pine Hill Road in Barre and found it to be a suitable space to call home.  2014-2016 were busy years consisting of project planning and grant writing to make this dream a reality.  MSCVT acquired the Pine Hill building in 2016 and began retrofitting the 9,500 square foot building into a space to school specifications with the goal of starting the 2016 school year in the new space!  The Pine Hill location has a Montessori Toddler Program, three Primary classrooms and an expanded Elementary program.

MSCVT’s vision is to become widely recognized within the community as the premier alternative school provider fostering self reliant, authentic, confident and creative innovators of the future.  The ability to grow at this new location is a key piece in making this vision a reality.  We look forward to updating you on our progress over the coming years as we settle in to our forever home!  The School will be embarking on various campaigns to raise funds necessary for sustainability for future generations. We invite you to envision the future with us and invest in the future of Montessori in Central Vermont! If you have the opportunity to stop by and visit us we invite you to do so!
